Social Ministry reaches out to those in need in our parish and neighborhood through donations to the Thanksgiving Baskets and the Christmas Giving Tree, as well as other projects during the year, and the Parish Blood Drive.
We also do projects by sponsoring children at the Santa Louisa School in El Salvador, and selling Holy Childhood ornaments to support people in Haiti and to various countries through the Rice Bowl.
Catholic Social Teachings are the values we are called to as Baptized Catholics to follow. These teachings draw upon the Gospels and Biblical traditions of Our Church. These values are:
- Care for God’s Creation
- Life and dignity of the human person
- Call to family, community, and participation
- Rights and responsibilities
- Option for the poor
- Dignity and rights for workers
(Packing of Thanksgiving Baskets, 2012)
We are called by these gospel values to a stewardship of our resources, striving to live simply and the call to the needs of others.
Our meetings are the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00-9:00 PM. We welcome new members!
